Denis's Idea...
Marketing consultant, Denis, 22 from Birmingham has a keen interest in business and with accolades such as winning 4th place in the Global Business Competition in Germany this year, 3rd place in the Global Business Challenge by CIMA in London, and being nominated a Birmingham Chamber of Commerce award, he was chomping at the bit to be involved in the Global Startup Challenge.
Denis plans to help revolutionise household chores with his robot cleaner which he claims is a relatively new development in the home appliances industry. At the simple touch of a button, the robot cleaner will automatically clean the house and work completely on its own. With hours of precious spare time spent cleaning and carrying out general household chores, Denis wants to introduce the robot to the UK to free up time and eliminate the hassle of vacuuming forever!

Conducting his own research and price analysis, Denis believes the product he has selected can be sourced via Alibaba.com for a much lower unit price than the product currently retails at in the UK. By using the site to import this product cheaply, Denis’ sales strategy is to significantly undercut the current market retail price whilst still turning a healthy profit.
Using online retailers as his primary distribution channel, Denis plans to put his experience of network, affiliate and online marketing into practice to help create interest and drive traffic to the websites offering his product. Additionally, Denis hopes to leverage the existing PR and marketing campaigns surrounding the product to his own advantage and expects the novelty element of his product to be a hit around Christmas time.
What Denis Says...
I am a serious contender in this competition for a number of reasons. I have researched and identified a gap in the market, and believe I have developed the right pricing structure to give my product appeal to the retailers I will be targeting. My experience in sales & marketing will be invaluable and I fully intend to draw on all my previous successes when it comes to this kind of challenge. Plus I’m helping to make cleaning duties easier, and who wouldn’t vote for that?
